Two behind the ear hearing aids with the dome-shaped ear-pieces removed for cleaning, next to a UV cleaning kit

Now more than ever, it’s crucial to keep both ourselves and the products around us clean and germ-free. As hearing health care professionals, we’ve always offered products that can clean and sanitize hearing aid devices, earmolds, household surfaces, and other items.

One of the easiest ways to sanitize your hearing aids is to leave them overnight in a hearing aid dryer with a UV-C germicidal bulb. These bulbs kill up to 99.9% of common bacteria and viruses when used for a full 90-second cycle. UV-C actually disrupts a microorganism’s DNA, effectively ending the reproductive cycle and creating a clean setting.

Our Dry & Store Global II hearing aid dryer with UV-C combines the three key elements of effective drying: heat, moving air, and a desiccant. This last element, the desiccant, greatly reduces the humidity and captures the moisture released from the devices.

The Global II starts with a 90-second sanitizing cycle using a UV-C bulb. Next is an eight-hour conditioning cycle, then the unit shuts itself off and simply stores your devices, keeping them safe until you need them.

The Global II can also sanitize other small items — such as jewelry — as long as they fit into the chamber. Just drop them in, turn it on, and wait for the 90-second sanitizing cycle to finish. Then turn it off and retrieve your items.

Our DryMax-UV hearing aid dryer also uses UV-C. This energy-efficient, portable dryer is designed for nightly use on a variety of hearing instruments — hearing aids, cochlear implant hardware, noise or tinnitus maskers, in-ear monitors, and even your wireless earphones. It’s large enough for your devices to fit inside, but small enough to travel with you so you can sanitize your devices while on vacation. As with the Global II, you can sanitize other items if they fit in the chamber.
